UPDATE: Two Cats Saved From House Fire

Four people are displaced after a fire broke out at a home in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service says on Wednesday around 3:30pm, firefighters responded to 611 Bensette St. to find the exterior and rear of the home on fire. There were also heavy smoke conditions in the home.

The residents were able to make it out of the home, but two pet cats had to be rescued by firefighters. There were no injuries in the fire.

Four people, along with their two cats and a dog, are displaced as a result of the blaze.

Damage is pegged at around $125,000.

An investigator has attended the scene, but the cause of the blaze remains undetermined at this time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
