LaSalle Man Charged In Kansas Child Porn Investigation

A 19-year-old LaSalle man faces charges in a child pornography investigation that originated in Wichita, Kansas.

Last November, police in Wichita got a complaint about a suspect engaging a 10-year-old child in sexually explicit conversation over the internet. During their investigation, they discovered the suspect was in Ontario, so they forwarded the matter to the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit earlier this month.

On Thursday, officers from the OPP unit, Windsor police and LaSalle police searched a home in LaSalle. They seized a laptop computer, a cellphone, and data storage devices. Some of the devices contained images of child sexual abuse.

Michael William MacKenzie Martin is charged with internet luring, possessing of child pornography and accessing child pornography. He's being held in custody, and the investigation continues.
