Man Pulled From Detroit River

It took police almost an hour to pull a man from the Detroit River after he refused to leave the water.

The Windsor Police Service says on Sunday around 11:41am, the police marine unit and the US Coast Guard attended the area of Riverside Dr. and Ouellette Ave. after a pedestrian reported the man in the water.

The man refused assistance from the authorities and they weren't able to pull him from the river until about 12:44pm.

The man was taken to hospital for medical assessment and observation.
