Windsor Fire Officials Complete Investigation

Windsor Fire and Rescue have completed an investigation at the scene of fatal fire in east Windsor.

The fire at 1022 Ford Blvd., which started at around 4am on Tuesday, caused $325,000 in damages to the home, garage and contents. There was also $20,000 in damages to the property at 1028 Ford.

A 47-year-old resident died of injuries sustained during the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined but it was not being treated as suspicious.

The Special Investigations Unit is probing the fire because Windsor police officers were on scene trying to save the person inside.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
