Windsor East End Pool Open

The new WFCU Centre Community Pool is officially open to the public today and running summer programming.

The 25m pool, with a toddler splash pad and therapy pool will host lane swims, public swims and will be available for rental for private lessons.

"We're offering opportunities this summer for people to get their feet wet," says Manager of Aquatic Services Jennifer Knights. "Monday through Friday the facility will be open and we'll be offering shallow and deep water aqua-fit as well as split lanes and use of the therapy pool for adults in the mornings. We're going to be offering family swims a couple of afternoons and several evenings a week, as well as a teen swim on Friday evening."

A full schedule for swimming lessons and other programs will be released in the City of Windsor fall activity guide.

"We're encouraging members of the community, if they have an idea for a program they'd like to see at the facility, to contact us through 311," says Knights.

The construction of the community pool at the WFCU Centre was completed in June, two months ahead of schedule.
