Bargaining To Resume In Library Strike

Striking library workers in Essex County are set to resume talks with management on Friday morning.

Lori Wightman with the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2974 says the conciliator is calling for bargaining to resume and she's a bit surprised by the move.

"I've never had this happen. I didn't know that it could happen," says Wightman.

She's hopeful management will come to the table with new ideas.

"We've moved on our position a couple of times. We've come up with a number of, we thought, creative ways to compromise, so you know the ball is in management's court," says Wightman.

The 58 members across 14 branches of the Essex County Library system have been on strike since June 25.
