Windsor Opening Its Streets To Summer Fun

Eight kilometers of Windsor roads are closing Sunday morning, to encourage physical activity throughout the city.

The first ever Open Streets Windsor festival starts in Sandwich Town and ends in Ford City, or vice versa.

It will feature activities along its path, include crafts, drum circles, public pianos, giant Jenga games, dancing, mini-putt, yoga, basketball, chess and more.  There will also be food vendors and water stations along the route.

Major roads affected include Sandwich St., between Brock St. and Detroit St.; University Ave., from Rosedale Ave. all the way to Aylmer Ave.; Wyandotte St., from Aylmer Ave. to Albert Rd.; and finally Drouillard Rd., between Edna St. and Richmond St.

Open Streets runs from 9am until 1pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
