City Look For Tenant For Pelissier St. Garage

The City of Windsor is looking for a master tenant for the ground floor retail space of the Pelissier St. parking garage.

Council has committed $500,000 to repair the building envelope and remediate the mould problems if a tenant agreement can be finalized.

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says they want one leaser who can then sublet the space to interested parties.

"They could say we're going to have two retail spaces, we're going to eight or we're going to have 12 and they can fit up the space inside the main floor of the parking garage whatever they can sell in the marketplace," says Dilkens.

The lease opportunity will the advertised through the city's website and the local newspaper shortly. Dilkens says it will be offered for a very competitive price.

"What we're doing effectively is collecting rent from one tenant just to cover our costs, we're not making a profit here. All we're looking to do is cover our costs," says Dilkens.
