50 New Manufacturing Jobs In Lakeshore

A manufacturing plant in Lakeshore is creating 50 new jobs with the help of government money.

Cimpress, known locally as Vistaprint, is receiving more than $894,000 from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.

The company purchased an offset press and other equipment as it continues to create customization products, including business cards, t-shirts and mugs.

Vistaprint's plant in Lakeshore is the company's largest manufacturing facility in the world. Globally they employ 7,500 people.

The government fund helps cover up to 15% of eligible projects. Since its inception Ontario has committed $95-million to help companies, which generated $1.1-billion in private sector investment. The money helped create 4,300 jobs and retain more than 20,000 existing jobs in southern Ontario.
