UPDATE: Fire Burns Kingsville Wheat Field

Firefighters have extinguished a large wheat stubble fire in Kingsville.

The Kingsville Fire Department reported the blaze around 6:30pm on Sunday on North Talbot Rd., and the fire was reported out just before 9pm.

Fire officials say a high voltage transmission line is down in the area and Hydro One has attended the scene to conduct repairs.

North Talbot Rd. was closed between Road 7 and Road 8 as a result of the fire, but has since been reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
