Next Steps In Leamington Pipeline Project

The Town of Leamington is looking to move into the construction phase of its $6-million sewer system project along Pelee Dr. and Bevel Line.

Administration's recommending council award a $4.8-million construction contract to J & J Lepera Infrastructures Inc. at a special meeting tonight.

The municipality says shoreline developments along Pelee Dr. are being serviced by aging, failed, or substandard septic systems right now.

The replacement of those means the replacement of watermains along Bevel Line as well, because the current pipes wouldn't be able to handle what the newly developing area will pump out.

Ontario's Small Communities Fund Grant is paying for more than $2-million of the overall project.
