ERCA Issues Flood Warning

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for the area.

They advise that a heavy and slow moving thunderstorm with rainfalls of 25 mm per hour are possible with 25-50 mm expected. The storm is sporadic and may not affect the entire region.

There is the probability that significant standing water can accumulate in and on roadways, in the rural and urban areas of the region, and should not be assumed to be safe to drive through. Extra precaution should be taken in passing through any areas of standing water.

The authority warns similar conditions of slow-moving thunderstorms could also affect the area after 2pm on Saturday. The warning will remain in effect until 8pm Saturday.
