Nomination Process Open For Tecumseh By-Election

The Town of Tecumseh has opened up the nomination process for the position of Ward 2 councilor.

Nominations may be made by completing a nomination form in the clerk's office. The forms can be filled out at the office anytime Monday through Friday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm. A declaration of qualification must be included with a the nomination forms, as well as proof of identification, and a $100 filing fee.

The last day to file nomination papers is between 9am and 2pm on August 30. A by-election for the Ward 2 councilor position is set for October 14.

The position was left vacant following the sudden passing of Mike Rohrer in May.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
