Pair Assaulted In LaSalle Park

LaSalle police are looking for two suspects after two people out for a walk were jumped near Heritage Park on Wednesday night.

Police report one of the suspects had a knife and demanded any valuables be handed over by the young man and woman out for a walk shortly after 10pm. When the victims refused, the suspects began beating the man. The woman intervened, but was struck as well.

The two suspects then ran off without getting anything.

Police report one of the suspects jumped into a white sedan parked nearby and headed off eastbound to Rushwood Cres. while the other suspect ran towards the Windsor Crossings Outlet mall.

The young man who was assaulted was taken to hospital. He had suffered a broken jaw in the fight.

The first suspect is described as an Hispanic man, about 5'7", 18 to 19 years old, average build with short brown or black hair, clean shave and spoke with an accent.

The second suspect is described as a black man with dark skin, standing over 6'1", 18 to 19 years old, with a skinny build and last seen wearing a grey hoodie.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
