Ribfest Adds Shade And Variety

The sixth annual Windsor Ribfest is underway the Riverfront Festival Plaza.

President of Windsor Ribfest Doug Hillier says they've made some changes this year based on feedback from previous festivals.

"We've got a few new things but we've brought back all your favourites. We've been listening Windsor, we've got your shade, we've got your shelter and we've got a variety of food and we're back again with the top seven ribbers," says Hillier.

This year organizers have set up seating under the entire band shell for more protection from the heat and possible rain.

In addition to the BBQ fare one would expect at a ribfest organizers have brought in pierogi, fajita and shawarma food vendors for a little variety.

"This is a food event ladies and gentlemen, you come here hungry. Don't come here looking for a snack this is the kind of place you're coming to be filled right up and be very satisfied," says Hillier.

The festival runs on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 4pm - 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-11pm and Sunday 11am-9pm. Organizers expect 30,000-50,000 people to attend the four-day event.
