Province Funding Local Renovations

Four agencies in Windsor-Essex are getting a financial boost from the provincial government.

The Community Living groups in Windsor and Essex County as well as Christian Horizons and St. Francis Advocates are splitting $388,000 from the Partner Facility Renewal program.

Community Living is getting the biggest chunk with $161,000 going to the Essex County group to pay for a new roof and fire alarm systems while in Windsor $109,000 will see a furnace and air condition installed along with roof and walkway repairs.

Christian Horizons is getting $99,000 to replace windows, build a ramp and install a furnace along with some other improvements.

St. Francis Advocates is receiving $18,000 for a new roof.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
