New Facility Aiming To Improve Student Life

Students at St. Clair College will soon have a new place to hang-out, study and be entertained.

Shovels are in the ground on the new $3.35-million Dr. John A. Strasser Student Life Centre, which includes an amphitheatre and lots of lounge space.

Student Representative Council President Jeff Rousseau says the demand for more meeting and casual space was clearly identified in recent student surveys.

"I believe that we are meeting everything that [the students] are looking for," he explains. "This is a very exciting project for [the SRC] because we know we're doing something that the students really want."

Strasser retired last year after serving 15 years as president of St. Clair College.

The new facility, located in the heart of the school's south Windsor campus, is expected to open in January of 2017.
