Police Lay Charges After Tim's, Shoppers Robbed

A 35-year-old Amherstburg woman is charged with two counts of robbery after a Tim Horton's coffee shop and Shoppers Drug Mart on Wyandotte St. were both robbed on the same day.

Police report the accused was stopped form leaving the Shoppers Drug Mart on Wyandotte St. E near Pillette Rd. on Wednesday around 1:15pm after allegedly slipping an employee a threatening note demanding drugs and money. Police say the employee noticed the accused didn't have a weapon and held the accused until officers arrived.

Upon making their arrest, officers found the accused was also suspected of an earlier robbery at a Tim Horton's on Wyandotte St. W at Crawford Ave. happening at about 1am on Wednesday.

In addition to the robbery charges, the woman is also charged with breach of recognizance.
