School Supply Drive For CAS Youth

The Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Foundation is looking for help to send 750 students to school with the right school supplies.

Its partnered with Staples Business Depot on Walker Rd. and other local organizations for the annual Back to School Back Pack and Supply Drive.

A financial contribution from National Bank, Union gas and the Silver Lining Foundation help off-set the cost of back packs. Staples runs an in-store campaign to give shoppers an opportunity to donate.

Today, August 20, 2016, Staples is hosting a "fill the bus" events from 11am-3pm. The event will have activities for children, raffle prizes, a bake sale and BBQ.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
