Express Introduce New Tournament

The Windsor Express is hosting the first ever Pro Cup tournament at St. Clair College today.

The tournament includes teams made up of former Express players, Canadian players and other professional basketball players from the US.

"We're inviting five or six teams to come out and participate giving us an opportunity to start our evaluation process and getting players signed and ready to go for next year," says Bill Jones, head coach of the Express, which plays in the NBL of Canada.

Jones wants to see the Pro Cup become an annual tournament in Windsor.

"This tournament here gives us an opportunity here, along with the combines, to look and evaluate some new players, some new blood," says Jones.

The tournament is set to run from 10am to 5pm at the Sportsplex at the St. Clair College Windsor campus.
