Alleged Leamington Lottery Thief Apprehended In Windsor

A man who allegedly stole lottery tickets from a gas station in Leamington was caught in Windsor after a nearly two-hour chase.

Around 9am Wednesday morning, the man entered the Petro Canada Gas Bar on Erie St. N, allegedly stole a quantity of lottery tickets and attempted to flee on a motorcycle.

Leamington OPP say the man crashed the motorcycle in the parking lot and continued to flee on foot. He then got into a Leamington taxi and travelled to Windsor.

His location was ascertained by police and a ground search was conducted by the OPP and Windsor police.

Around 10:45am the male was apprehended in the Winners on Walker Rd. after he attempted to disguise himself with allegedly stolen clothing.

Police continue their investigation and no formal charges have been laid at this time.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
