OPP Cruiser Hit, Woman Charged

A 60-year-old Tecumseh woman is charged for allegedly driving impaired by drugs after a vehicle hit the rear of an OPP cruiser yesterday morning.

Police report being tipped off about an erratic vehicle on Lesperance Rd. near County Rd. 22 in Tecumseh around 11:30am on Thursday.

Officers report trying to stop the vehicle, but it accelerated into the rear of an OPP cruiser.

No injuries were reported.

The driver was eventually arrested by police and brought to the OPP station in Tecumseh. Police say the driver refused to cooperate with a drug expert looking to do an evaluation.

The accused is expected in a Windsor court on September 1 to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
