Communities In Bloom Awards For Leamington And Kingsville

Both the Town of Kingsville and the Municipality of Leamington have picked up awards at the Communities In Bloom Provincial Symposium in Stratford.

Kingsville received two awards Saturday for community involvement, while Leamington was recognized for its hanging baskets and planters.

Judges visited both towns in July.

Earlier, Amherstburg won the 2016 Ontario Parks Association Municipal Floral Display Competition in the category of hanging baskets and planters.

Communities in Bloom is a non-profit organization fostering environmental responsibility, beautification and civic pride.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
