UPDATE: Charges In Serious Crash Near Leamington

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a 17-year-old man from Leamington after a three-vehicle crash on County Rd. 31 near Leamington.

A red car was near the intersection of County Rd. 31 and Mersea Rd. 6 around 8:30pm Sunday when it was struck by a grey pickup truck.  A black pickup truck was indirectly involved in the crash.

The collision shut down County Rd. 31 between Mersea Rd. 6 and County Rd. 4 for several hours while police investigated and reopened around 5am Monday.

A 69-year-old Leamington man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was extricated from his car, while two other people in the black pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

The 17-year-old is charged with disobeying a stop sign and stopping at the wrong place under the Highway Traffic Act.  He and his passenger were not hurt.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
