Tecumseh Terry Fox Run Snaps Fundraising Record

In its 20th year, the Terry Fox Run in Tecumseh has met a milestone and broken a fundraising record.

Sunday's run raised $90,808 for cancer research. That puts fundraising over the past two decades over the $600,000 mark for cancer research.

Organizer Jan Wright says up to 1,300 runners from Tecumseh, Windsor and across Essex County took part in the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km runs.

"All age groups," she says. "Anybody that wants to participate. People walked their dogs, pushed strollers."

Last year's run raised $75,000.

Runs in Tilbury, Ridgetown, Blenheim, Dresden and Chatham raised a total of $104,400.
