OPP Investigate After Cyclist Struck

A 73-year-old Essex woman faces charges after a car hit a cyclist in the Town of Essex.

The Ontario Provincial Police say a 53-year-old Quebec woman was riding her bike across the intersection of Talbot Rd. and Maidstone Ave. around 12:30pm Tuesday when she was struck by a silver Dodge.

The Dodge then hit a hydro pole.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries, and the driver is charged with careless driving.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
