UPDATE: Fatal Crash In Essex

One person is dead after a head-on collision between a Jeep and tractor trailer on County Rd. 11 (Walker Rd.) in Essex.

OPP say the yellow Jeep was travelling north around 7:50am, Monday, when it and the southbound truck hit each other, just north of South Malden Rd.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene, while police say the truck driver was not injured.

County Rd. 11 (Walker Rd.) is expected to be closed for another several hours between County Rd. 18 and the 7th Concession, as police continue to investigate the crash.

The deceased will not be identified until the family has been notified.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
