UWindsor Prof's Work Nationally Recognized

A book, written by a University of Windsor creative writing professor, is up for the Governor General's Literary Award in Poetry.

Susan Holbrook's "Throaty Wipes" is on the short list for the national prize, which was founded back in 1936.

Just for making the list, Holbrook's already won $1,000, but could claim $25,000 if her book is chosen as the winner.

Nicole Markotic, who also works in the university's English department, edited Holbrook's work.

The Canada Council is expected to announce the Governor General Literary Award winners at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on October 25.
