East Windsor Street Reopened After Suspect Search

A street in east Windsor is open again after being closed due to the search for an assault suspect.

Windsor police closed off a section of Ontario Street between Pillette and Lawrence shortly after 6pm after a report of an assault.

The closure was merely a precaution, since police did not believe that the suspect was armed.

Shortly after 8pm, police tweeted that the suspect was taken into custody without incident, and the area would be opening to traffic shortly.
