Thiessen Spreading Wealth Of Apples

Thiessen Orchards in Leamington is donating 9,000 lbs of apples to the local Children's Aid Society.

Owner of the farm, Andrew Thiessen says they made a similar donation to CAS a couple years ago.

"We felt this year was good timing for us," he explains. "We had a big crop and wanted to help give back to some of the families, less fortunate, in the area."

The 9,000 lbs. of apples equals about 1,500 bags of 20 apples.

Thiessen says this season's been busier than usual at the farm with great weather and a good crop making for ideal conditions.

The orchard is open to the public until Sunday.
