Slow Downs Coming On Walker Rd At EC Row Exwy.

Walker Rd. will have north and southbound lane restrictions at the EC Row Exwy. starting at 7pm Monday.

Wade Bondy, contracts coordinator with the City of Windsor, says the lane restrictions are for work on the underside of the EC Row Exwy.

"They are doing some repairs under the structure," says Bondy.

Bondy says the lanes will shut down at 7pm every night and reopen in time for the morning commute at 6am each morning. The work should be done by Saturday, November 5.

Meanwhile, there may be some relief for commuters when lane restrictions on the westbound EC Row between Central Ave. and Walker Rd. wrap up this week. It's been down to one lane for months.

"They've had some weather delays," he says. "Right now we're trying to coordinator the final paving, which is of course weather dependent."

He adds the forecast looks good for the week to come.

"They basically needed to rehabilitate the whole structure," says Bondy. "Replacing the waterproofing under the deck, doing some concrete repairs, repaving the structure."

The project has meant long delays on the westbound EC Row Exwy for drivers.
