First-Degree Murder Charge In Curry Ave. Death

Windsor police have laid a first-degree murder charge against a 47-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman Tuesday afternoon.

Officers arrested a man wanted for outstanding warrants around 1am Wednesday at Caesars Windsor.

Through their investigation, officers learned the man might have been involved in the death at a home on Curry Ave. near College Ave. in Windsor.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, suffered obvious trauma.

John Wayne Pierre had been in a domestic relationship with the woman.

In addition to the murder charge, he faces two counts of breach of recognizance.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
