Windsor Jobless Rate Falls Again

Windsor's jobless rate dipped again in October to 5.3%, down from 5.7% in September.

The national economy added 44,000 net jobs, mostly part-time.  While the number of part-time jobs grew by 67,000 across Canada, the number of full-time positions fell by 23,000.

Employment across the country grew 0.2%, but that wasn't enough to affect the national jobless rate.  It remained steady at 7%.

Ontario's jobless rate fell 0.2% to 6.4%.  It was 6.6% in September.

Just up Hwy. 401, London's jobless rate also dipped.  It was 6.4% in October.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
