UPDATE: Fiery Crash On Hwy. 3

A fiery two-vehicle collision that closed part of Hwy. 3 has sent one person to hospital.

Around 1:45pm on Wednesday, a white Jeep SUV travelling east rear-ended a farm tractor hauling three wagons loaded with grain around Sexton Side Rd.

The Jeep burst into flames but the driver was able to exit the vehicle safely. The driver and lone occupant was arrested at the scene by police after exhibiting signs of impairment and was transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the farm tractor was not injured.

The eastbound lanes of Hwy. 3 were closed between Walker Rd. and Sexton Side Rd., but were opened just before 5:30pm according to the MTO. The westbound lanes are also open.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
