Victim Identified In Fatal Hwy. 401 Crash

Police are still looking for a vehicle involved in a fatal crash Wednesday evening on Hwy. 401 in Tecumseh, but the victim involved has now been identified.

The OPP says 35-year-old Cory Lynn Dauphin from Windsor was killed after being hit by a vehicle that didn't stop at the scene. The incident happened at about 6:50pm yesterday in the westbound lanes of the highway at Manning Rd.

Police aren't sure why Dauphin was on the highway when she was hit, but say her blue Chevrolet was parked on the shoulder of the highway near the scene.

According to witnesses, a tractor trailer with two men in it had stopped by the crash shortly, but left without giving their names before police got on scene.

The OPP are looking for anyone with information to contact them by calling 519-723-2491.
