It happened around 9:30pm Saturday in the 100 block of East Puce Road. Investigators say the fire took about four hours to put out and neighbours were evacuated as a precaution during that time.
The house was vacant at the time and there were no injuries. The cause of the blaze has not been determined and there is no word yet on a damage estimate.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
