OPP Introduce New K-9 Unit

There's a new law-dog in Essex County, and he's a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix from Hungary.

The Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County has a new K-9 Unit after its existing team was transferred to another OPP detachment.

Constable Milan Matovski is a ten-year veteran with the provincial police, who has served six years as a member of the Emergency Response Team. He was transferred to the Essex County detachment in 2013.

His partner is Maximus, a pooch with qualifications for lost and missing persons, criminal apprehension and tactical obedience. Just recently, the two have completed a 20-week general service course and plan to take more training in narcotic and firearm detection.
