UPDATE: Garage Fire Investigated in Leamington

Officials in Leamington have concluded the investigation into a garage fire over the weekend.

The initial call came around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.  Firefighters arrived on the scene at the 600 block of Mersea Road 5 and found heavy smoke and flames.  The fire was intense enough to prompt officials to keep people away from the area until the fire was brought under control

The fire was declared out before 6pm.  The cause of the blaze is undetermined with a damage estimate of about $35,000.

There were no reports of injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
