Essex Man Wins Lottery

An Essex man claimed the winning lottery ticket from the November 30, 2016 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Todd Grimes is now $282,242.50 richer.

“I found out about my big win the day following the draw,” shared Todd while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “I checked my numbers at OLG.ca and realized I had five winning numbers plus the bonus number. I wanted to be absolutely certain so I grabbed a pen and literally circled every single number that matched.”

After consulting with his wife the pair headed to Toronto to pick up their cheque at the OLG Prize Centre.

“The first thing I plan to do with this win is pay off the mortgage. We are also very connected to our church and feel strongly that a portion of this win belongs there. I’m an auto-body expert and a big car enthusiast. My dream vehicle is a vintage British racing car and I am going shopping! Finally, I’ve been happily married for 28 years and have two kids so of course, some traveling is in the works for us. Our kids have always come first, with sports and school, and that won’t change but we might start taking more time for ourselves,” concluded Todd.

The winning lottery ticket was purchased at Mac's on Talbot St. in Essex.
