Slight Uptick In Windsor's Jobless Rate

Statistics Canada says the jobless rate in Windsor rose to 5.7% in November.

That's up 0.4% from October when the unemployment rate was 5.3% in the city.

Up Hwy. 401, employment rose slightly in London.  It was 6.9% last month compared to 6.7% the month before.

The Canadian rate 6.8%, down from 7%.  The national economy added 19,400 part-time jobs in November, but shed 8,700 full-time positions.

Ontario's jobless rate was also down a tick to 6.3% from 6.4% in October.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
