Good weather helped make Christmas in Tecumseh a merry success.
An estimated 7,000 people came out to enjoy the Santa Claus parade as well as a number of other activities throughout the town including putt-putt gold, free skating and carriage rides.
"We couldn't have asked for a better turn-out for another fantastic Tecumseh event," says Gary McNamara, the town's mayor, in a prepared statement. "The weather was perfect for the parade and we were so pleased at the high turn-out on the streets."
Last year rain saw the event cancelled.
It's the third year the town has organized the event and sixth year overall for the festival. Partners for the festival include the Tecumseh BIA, the St. Clair Beach Optimist Club, Essex Power, WFCU and many community organizations that volunteered.
McNamara thanked the many businesses "who participated and humoured us while the roads were closed" adding the holiday spirit is alive and well in Tecumseh.
