14th Annual Turkey Giveaway

For the 14th year Mikhail Holdings is giving 500 local families Christmas dinner.

Residents started lining up as early has 9:00pm last night in order to receive a turkey, corn, potatoes and cookies from Mikhail and other community partners.

"It's like that every year, every year there's always a need, people who are in real need or a real wholesome meal. We're pretty lucky and we're pretty privledged to be able to afford and organize and offer something like this," says organizer Lou Mikhail.

Mikhail says he's enjoyed doing this year after year because it has taught his children an important lesson.

"It's nice to see them, how they've grown and how they've become charitable and how they treat everyone with respect as equal people," says Mikhail.

The turkey giveaway began at 10am this morning with Windsor police and other volunteers to help the line move smoothly.
