Local Restaurant Hosts Christmas Lunch

A local restaurant will be helping the homeless this Christmas.

Tony's Chargrill will be serving soup, pasta, bread, pop, and desserts to those in need this Christmas Eve.

Along with serving a hot lunch, they will be handing out scarves, hats, and gloves donated by Winners.

Tony's Chargrill is a family-owned Portuguese restaurant which opened in November 2013.

Isabel Pato is the daughter of the original owner and wanted to honour her father, who passed away in 2014, by giving back this holiday season.

"He was always the person that wanted to help everybody," said Pato. "This has been something on my mind for a while because this used to be my father's favourite time of year."

The restaurant is located at 3347 Tecumseh Rd. E. and will be serving food from 1pm to 5pm December 24. Everyone is welcome.
