Express Edge A's In Home Opener

The Windsor Express made a late comeback in their home opener to narrowly beat the Orangeville A's 95-94 on Friday.

The Express trailed the A's 25-21 at the end of the first quarter and were ten points behind Orangeville at halftime. Windsor made a little ground in the third frame to make it 76-96 for the A's going into the fourth.

It was in the final quarter that Windsor came from behind to take a 86-82 lead, however the two teams were tied at 89 points apiece with 3:40 left in the game. It was a back-and-forth last few minutes, but Windsor was able to earn the win with a single point.

Windsor forward Nick Evans was named player of the game for putting up 18 points and ten rebounds. Quinnel Brown added 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Express will take on the Lightning in London on Sunday at 2pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
