Residents in the Town of Tecumseh now have to use hard sided garbage containers during regular collection days.
This rule applies to the first waste pick-up scheduled for January 5, 2017. Any garbage not placed in a hard-sided container with a watertight lid will not be collected and property owners may be subject to fines.
Council implemented the bylaw to discourage skunks and other rodents in the urban areas of the town.
Residents are responsible for purchasing their own hard sided garbage containers. For more information on the acceptable containers visit the town's website.
