Aggravated Assault Suspect In Custody

A 48-year-old Leamington man, wanted for allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck and hands, has turned himself in to Essex County OPP.

Officers responded to the stabbing incident on January 4 around 9:50pm on Sturgeon Meadows Ave. in Leamington.

A 34-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP reported on Wednesday that 48-year-old Mitchell Baker had turned himself in.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Baker last week on charges of aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.  The OPP have not stated if these charges have been laid.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
