River Lions Maul Express 117-99

The Windsor Express fell 117-99 to the Niagara River Lions at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines on Monday.

The River Lions held a four point lead over the Express at the end of the first quarter, and narrowly remained ahead 56-54 at halftime.

The Express were able to tie the game 56-56 in the third, but Niagara regained their lead to make it 85-73 going into the fourth.  Windsor wasn't able to rebound in the final frame to lose with an 18 point deficit.

Wally Ellenson led Windsor with 21 points and three rebounds. Warren Ward also put up 17 points and five rebounds, while Quinnel Brown had another 14 points.

The Express are back at their home court on Wednesday to take on the London Lightning at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
