UPDATE: Devonshire Mall Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Police are investigating after a bomb threat made towards an employee's vehicle led to the evacuation of Devonshire Mall.

The Windsor Police Service says on Thursday just before 8pm, officers responded to the mall parking lot on Howard Ave. after an employee received a threatening phone call implying there was a bomb in their vehicle.

No threat had been made toward the mall itself, police say, but mall security chose to evacuate the building as a precaution.

Officers and the police K9 unit searched at least one vehicle in the parking lot, but nothing was found. Emergency crews cleared the scene just after 9pm.

The mall was not reopened to the public as it had passed its scheduled closing time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
