Organizers of this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit say total attendance for 2017 was 806,554 people.
2017 NAIAS Chairman Sam Slaughter says 98,125 people came out Sunday, the last day of the auto show at Cobo Centre.
"Visitors to the show were able to experience the full spectrum of the auto industry -- from autonomous vehicles and technologies to current production models that will be in dealer showrooms in the near future," says Slaughter. "It was an incredible showcase for our industry, one that provided a look into the transformation of the world's automotive industry."
On display this year, 120 automakers, suppliers and startups from around the world. A total of 46 vehicles made their debut including seven North American introductions and 17 one-of-a-kind vehicles.
The highlight of the show this year for those in Windsor-Essex was the "North American Utility Vehicle of the Year" award which went to the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.
The showcase attracted 5,101 journalists from 61 countries and about 40,000 auto and tech industry executives, designers, developers and analysts.
During the charity preview, $5.2-million was raised for children's charities in Detroit.
The estimated economic impact of the show this year was $450-million on the regional economy, up $20-million from 2016.
