Hundreds of Windsorites braved a cold Tuesday night to show support for the Muslim community and the victims of the shooting at Centre Culturel Islamique de Quebec.
The vigil in City Hall Square lasted about an hour with speakers from the Muslim community, and other community groups all expressing a message of unity and peace.
"It's very nice to see people from different religions, from different backgrounds to come together today, all of them condemning what happened in Quebec," says Hamam Nassereddine from Imam Hussain Foundation of Windsor.
Imam of the Windsor Mosque Mohamed Mahmoud Al-Jammari says the aftermath of the terrible tragedy is something that can make you smile.
"Beautiful hearts came together to celebrate the Canadian value in the memory of those that died," says Al-Jammari.
After an hour of speakers the vigil ended with the singing of O'Canada to represent the country that connected everyone at the event.
